College of St. Joseph's baseball team plays at Fisher College in Boston, Mass. on Sunday, April 7 at 1pm and 4pm.
The Fighting Saints will be coming off three games against Great Bay Community College prior to Sunday's contest. CSJ is 7-7 before the matchups versus GBCC. The Falcons will be coming off three straight games versus Bryant & Stratton Albany. Fisher is 27-10 prior to their contests against the Bobcats.
CSJ and Fisher squared off in a doubleheader during the fall season that tilted in favor of the Falcons. A deep pool of pitching staff enabled Fisher to win 13-3 and 15-3.
In game one, Wesley Lopez started on the mound for the Falcons. In 3.0 innings of work he gave up 1 hit, 1 run, 1 walk and struck out two. Raymundo Gomez took the mound next. He allowed 2 hits, 1 run and struck out three batters in 3.0 innings of play. Ivan Rivera had three strikeouts in his 1.0 inning on the mound. Justin Holmberg started at pitcher for the Saints. He threw 6 strikeouts in 4.2 innings and allowed 12 runs and 9 hits. Benny Pena finished the game on the mound for CSJ.
Fisher's Angel Alicea was starting pitcher in game two. In 1.0 inning he allowed 2 runs, 1 hit and walked 2 with 1 strikeout. Norberto Ceballos threw the next 4.0 innings. He recorded 7 strikeouts and allowed 3 hits, 1 run. George Gali and Yamil Delgado althrew the final two innings for the Falcons. CSJ's William Leino started at pitcher and allowed 11 hits, 11 runs in 3.0 innings. He threw two strikeouts. Gould subbed in to finish the final four innings. He threw four strikeouts and allowed 6 hits, 4 runs.
Holmberg accounted for 1 of CSJ's 3 team hits in game one. Kyle Gould had 1 hit, 1 run and Pena recorded 1 hit, 1 RBI. Jeremy Johnson had 1 RBI, 1 run. In game two, Gould had a double, 1 run and was walked once. Mathew Santiago and Pena also had doubles. Jason Albert had 1 hit, 1 RBI and Tristen Ciarlo recorded a run.
CSJ's next game is scheduled for Wednesday, April 10 at New Hampshire Technical Institute at 4pm.
