Women's Basketball faces Unity, ACPHS

College of St. Joseph Women's Basketball will be playing back-to-back games on Saturday, Dec. 3 and Sunday, Dec. 4. They are currently 5-1 overall and 4-1 in conference play this season.

The Lady Saints start the weekend off with a matchup against Unity College on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Vermont Technical College. The Lady Saints will be the heavy favorites going up against the Unity Rams, as the opposition has gone 0-6 thus far this season, losing the majority of their games in blowout fashion.

Other than their one loss, the Lady Saints have been playing some impressive basketball to start the season, especially considering how young of a team they are. They have shared the ball well on offense, averaging 15.3 assists per game, which is good enough for sixth in the nation. They are also sixth in points per game, averaging 72.2 points this year. They should have no issues with the Rams if they continue to play with the same pace and aggressiveness that has helped make them successful so far this season.

Following the game on Saturday, the Lady Saints will travel to Albany, N.Y. on Sunday to take on Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. The Panthers are entering the weekend with a 2-3 overall record, coming off a 54-50 victory over Hudson Valley Community College. Their only other win of the season came against SUNY Delhi, who the Lady Saints just beat less than a week ago.

The last time the Lady Saints and ACPHC met was in the USCAA National Championship game back in March. The Lady Saints routed the Panthers 73-46 and earned their first ever USCAA Championship. Both teams are almost completely different this year with new coaches and players.
